Week 2 Overview

Guiding Question: How does my family work together to meet its needs?

Supporting Questions:

  • What are your own needs?

  • What are things your family needs?

  • How does your family get those needs?

In week two, the students will be further exploring the terms wants and needs. They will think about their own wants and needs, and then their families wants and needs. Once they have discussed those, the students will look into how their families may meet those wants and needs. The students will be working in large group settings, partner work, and individually.

FFormative Assessment:
  • Working with partners, students will brainstorm a list of their families needs.

  • Working with partners, students will brainstorm a list of how their families meet their needs.

  • Students will individually draw how their family meets their needs on a sheet of paper. They will write what is a want and what is a need below the picture.
