Week 4 Overview

Guiding Question: What are the roles of my different family members?

Supporting Questions:

  • What is your role in your family?

  • What are your other family member's roles?

  • What makes each person's role important?

In week 4 students will learn about roles and responsibilities within families. They will decide if roles can be interchanged between family members and who can do what roles. The teacher will read The Berenstain Bears and the Messy Room and Who's in my Family? . The students will work in large groups and individually.  

Formative Assessment:
  • In pairs, students will fill out family member roles sheet.

  • Students will state out loud what roles they see and hear happening in the book.

  • Students will create a picture and write about a role/responsibility they would do in the classroom.

  • Students will draw at least 2 family members in their many different roles.  They will write the different roles each member has below the pictures.
